Chinese New Year @ Jonker Walk

 When you are around in Malacca this new year, remember to drop by Jonker WalkJonker Walk (formerly known as Jonker Street) is a tourist hotspot and is famous for authentic gourmet, antiques and street food. Jonker Walk is closed for traffic every weekends, on Friday to Sunday at night for its night market. 
The 121-metre-long dragon named prosperity dragon is guarding the entrance to Jonker Walk, Malacca. Its twin dragon is located in Jalan Kubu, known as the harmony dragon and measured 91 metres. These two giant dragons, dubbed the “1Malaysia Dragons” were assembled to usher Chinese New Year.  and believed to be a symbol of power, strength and good luck, have been erected here.
There are more than 200,000 lanterns hung all across town to celebrate Chinese New Year. More than 200 lion dance performances would be held along Jonker Walk during the Chap Goh Mei celebration, which is on the 15th and final day of the Chinese New Year.
